Why do so many deprive themselves of elegance?
Do they feel they are not deserving—unworthy of fully expressing the knowledge evolved through the art of living?
Elegance (noun):
Refined grace or dignified propriety: Urbanity.
Tasteful richness of design or ornamentation: Luxuriousness.
Dignified gracefulness or restrained beauty of style: Polish.
Scientific precision, neatness, and simplicity: Ingenuity.
I define elegance as just that, a refined, thoughtful, graceful expression of life's knowledge and accumulated wisdom.
If one goes through the ups and downs of life—the unexpected losses, the glorious blessings of success—why not express those things in a manner that is graceful, a manner that is poised and charming to those around them?
Why would we use those wins of life, those unexpected circumstances, and express that living through discourse, attire, and appearance that is less than merciful, less than courteous, less than honorable?
Elegance and the embracing of such elegance is to honor your own blessings in life, honoring your parents, those that raised you, honoring your country, honoring your God. It is a righteous, poetic, and just way to turn battle scars and medallions of victory into an elegant state of being, one in which the mind is constantly reaching to perfect its knowledge, especially as it pertains to sustaining and cultivating the world in which we live.
I believe that mindful elegance, which has little to do with how much money you have and more to do with your deep inner attitude about oneself, is one of the biggest keys for individuals to escape unproductive cyclical thinking. If one can see the beauty in even the mundane, extract seeds of elegance from even the most mundane circumstance, one can be in a constant state of Godly thinking.
In that state, the mind is not consumed by what may appear to be now, but is excited for what is sure to come.
One can put themselves in a position to express themselves poetically and properly, and not be dragged down by those who want to be tyrants, those who want to be divas—seen and most importantly heard, with little substance at all.
To conclude, embrace elegance in your life, study it, and when you see patterns in others, when you see how they act, who they empower, who they discourage, understand that this is a key insight into their psychology, a key insight into what they truly believe they are worthy of.
Do not be blind to this.
